meeting each other's needs

we've got a couple of crewites who are in need of a washer & dryer. we're not looking for a brand new, cherry-red, stackable set of whirlpools. but, grandma's 1979 vintage maytags with the push-button controls need to go to the recycle place rather than our friends. i know someone out there can help. email tim@crewcommunity.org if you've got a hookup.

Kids Ministry Volunteers Needed

Due to 2 teams in our preschool class having babies Crew is in need of 4 more volunteers to get us through these next couple of months. You do not have to prepare a lesson just show up at 10:00 on Sundays and be blessed by these little guys. Oh, no diaper changing either in this class :)

Let Sarah Perry know asap if you are interested.

Opportunities to Serve at Crew

Here are a few opportunities available right now to serve within Crew Community Church. Each is an essential job to making Crew what it is. Some may require more time than others, but there is definitely something for everyone and their talents, and time schedule. Each team has a rotating schedule, so you will not have to do the task every Sunday. We will train you, so absolutely no experience necessary (except for musical talent obviously).

SET UP/ TEAR DOWN TEAM
- Since we don't own our space, we have to set up and tear down all of our front door stuff, band equipment, and children's ministry settings. This means arriving around 9AM and staying about 30 minutes after the sermon. Right now we are on a every other month rotation, and would like to expand that if we have the manpower. Ibterested? E-mail josh@crewcommunity.org

FRONT DOOR GREETERS - If you are a people person with a smiling face this one is for you. Greeters are the ones who welcome Crewbies (aka newbies) and regular attenders each Sunday as they come in the door. We like to show everyone some good ole' fashioned hospitality when they come in by directing people to the right place. Greeters typically need to arrive around 10AM. If you have questions, contact Sarah Haddox at sarah.haddox@gmail.com

AUDIO/VISUAL TEAM
  • Computer/Media - You don't have to be a computer geek, just how to make/run PowerPoint. We use a program called MediaShout to organize song lyrics, announcements, sermon notes, videos, etc. It is quite easy to catch on to, so e-mail Chris Haddox at chris@crewcommunity.org if you are interested.
  • Sound - This one involves adjusting the audio levels on a mixer so that our band and speakers sound amazing. We also record audio for the Podcast so you may have to hit a record button sometime as well. You can def be trained on this one. Contact Brian Patton at brian@crewcommunity.org

PARTY TEAM - We love to socialize and engage the community here at Crew. To socialize sometimes we need party planners. Our party team organizes events so that we can commune together as a body of believers outside of Sunday morning service. We try to have a social event every other month. So if planning and organizing is your fortay, then sign on up! E-mail josh@crewcommunity.org.

CHILDREN'S MINISTRIES - Crew takes children's ministry very seriously. We want to provide the kiddos with their own worship experience and Biblical lessons. All of the lessons are preorganized and layed out for you, so no worries on creating lesson plans and so on.
  • Treehouse - K to 5th Grade. The Treehouse includes drama, music, storytelling, team activities, investigative work, & problem solving. Check out www.252basics.com to find out more on the amazing curriculum we use. See Sarah Fox, or e-mail her at sfoxwv@yahoo.com.
  • Playground - 3-5 year olds. Even preschool aged kiddos can learn about God. Crew emphasizes that God Made Me, God Loves Me, and Jesus Wants to be my Friend Forever. For more information on the volunteering for the Playground, see Kristen Norris, or e-mail her at Kmnorris_slp@yahoo.com.
WORSHIP TEAM - The worship team collectively leads Crew in musical worship. This team requires a bit more than the other teams. Jumping on board with the worship team means that you must audition with your musical talents and go through a series of spiritual assessments and training. If you are interested, contact Sean Knisely at sean@crewcommunity.org.
Our current needs include:
  • Drummer
  • Vocalists - Harmony and Backup
  • Rhythm Guitar
  • Keyboard
  • Any other random instruments (violin, cello, banjo, recorder, etc).
