"Canta al Senor"

As we were singing in church this morning, the electricity suddenly went out. (This is a common occurrence here in Shell, but for some reason it doesn't happen that often on Sunday mornings.) The entire congregation kept singing, even though all the mics were out and we could barely hear the guitars. After we finished the song, the worship leader started right into the next song as if nothing were out of the ordinary. The song was "Mi Cristo, Mi Rey" ("My Jesus, My Savior"). This just happens to be one of the few songs I actually know from memory in Spanish, so I was excited to be able to sing along. (The lack of electricity meant no words to sing from on the overhead.) As I was singing this song in Spanish, I started thinking about the words. "Canta al Senor toda la creacion" - "Shout to the Lord, all the earth let us sing". It was amazing to hear these words sung out without instruments...just voices, singing to God! My thoughts immediately went to Crew. Here I am, hundreds of miles away, singing in another language to the same God you were singing to this morning. And just like the words of the song, "ALL THE EARTH" was singing to Him this morning.

I love you guys and miss you tons!

Great story Beth. We miss and love you too. I'm Dallas this week and missed last week at Crew. Man, you don't realize how much you love this body of believers. I'm so proud of our church.
