A Little Scared After The Meet & Greet
If you haven’t read the previous two blogs, do that. If you don’t you won’t understand what I’m talking about. We’re spending quite a bit of time going around and telling our stories.
One thing that emerged for me that I mentioned to the group was the extreme suffering most of them had experienced. One man had a 5 year old daughter die from cancer. One had a brain tumor. Another had a wife die. One had a son become paralyzed on an ATV. The same man’s son had his fiance get killed by a drunk driver. That’s scary to me.
I’m living a charmed life in regards to these experiences. Am I next? Hope not.

It's so easy for us to get used to life as we know it now. Although we shouldn't live in fear, we should live in a way that appreciates the blessings that our gracious God has given us. It's so easy for us to take for granted our loved ones, however we need to really cherish the time that we have with them.
The delima comes when we see that we are hold things loosely on earth. Most Christians understand that money, possessions, etc are fleeting, however the ability to hold loved ones in our lives in the same manner, while not lessening the deepness of our affections, is an incredible challenge.

Well said Jonathan.
